MULTIPLE ADDICTION RECOVERY
Replacing Addictions with Connections

Many people say the LifeStar program is the best thng they have ever done for their personal and relationship lives...that their connections to themselves, their partners and their God have dramatically improved and the addictions and habitual negative patterns of all kinds have dropped to the bottom of the choice chart...counterfeits never offer long-term satisfaction, and the real deal does!
Many report newfound feelings and freedom from the old drama triangle and report discovering peace and joy seldom felt before.  They report that the combination of education, excellent manuals, small group therapy and individualized personal and family therapy really adds depth to the 12 steps support group model which remains very important. Notice that partners have their own special recovery program in the LifeStar model...this is exceptional and makes all the difference in keeping families together.
Any addiction will do...from our specialty in sexual and pornography addiction, to substance abuse, to difficult co-addicted relationships, to highly skilled parenting, to serious cycles of depression and anxiey, and to anger management.

HOW IS IT THAT THE LIFESTAR RECIPE REALLY WORKS...THE DETAILS!
LifeStar of Central Utah was developed in response to pornography addiction and because it works for the most difficult addictive patterns the program  has been expanded to include
any other addiction or negative pattern. This is a self-esteem or identity  building program which is geared to develop secure-based individuals, couples and families. Any behavior or substance or relationship that is used to ease pain or create a rush or high that becomes unmangageable and interrupts or isolates from the more functional connections of life is likely an addiction or addictive pattern.

Some suggest that there are many addictions beyond the obvious such as patterns of anger, patterns of deep depression, fighting or isolating instead of problem olving, anxiety-
producing thought patterns, the over and under consumption of food and stimulating drinks, habitual lying, the over focus on texting or video games or television or other electronics, so very many activities that may be disconnecting. Many couples and individuals and parents of addicts who are not "officially" addicts find this approach very helpful in maturing relationship connectability.

LIfeStar Phase I participants awaken through powerful PowerPoint presentations, carefully constructed workbooks and small same-gender discussion groups. This is all in preparation for the Phase II therapist-led small groups of men or women.  Keep in mind that individual, couple, family therapy will happen at least once per month to process additional issues unworkable in the group setting. We recommend additional support groups to deepen emotional, social and spiritual development. Research has proven that the combination of at least one honest and supportive group coupled with at least one confidential significant other
is necessary for  the  accountability, the cognitive learning and the validation necessary for secure identity development and addiction recovery.

Once the participants have adequate insight, they
are ready to begin carefully "processing" or working through the roadblocks to connection in their lives.  With the workbooks, and the confidentiality, and connections of the small group of seven, the therapy team is able to facilitate the safe confrontation of negative patterns of all kinds. Eventually the addictions and negative patterns  become manageable, lifestyles change positively and dramatically, and brain functioning comes along enough to allow for greatly improved emotional and relational functioning. Gradually the relational connections replace the utilzation of addictions. Again let's recognize that this is a program that works for the identified patient and for their partners...partners are just as important as are their more obviously troubled mate.

Collaboration with the courts, therapists, church leaders and programs, the medical gatekeepers and other supportive community systems enhance and sustain recovery.

Many marriages and families remain intact while the general life-balance of all involved shows remakable improvement as the lights come on and the counterfeits are left behind.

THE COST BREAKDOWN
Even if you are already working with a therapist or church affiliate or attending a 12 step support group, you will find the LifeStar recipe to be a tremendous resource.   After a 13 year history, over 3000 participants and now 30 clinical locations acrosss the country, one of our founders, Dan Gray, indicates that nealy 100% of those who engage fully in the program will succeed.  Please note that the cost is usually $300 per person for the 12 hour (including manuals and snacks) and 4 week Phase I program, and only $200 per month for the 4 or 5 meetings per month (less than $50 per week and including a total of 9 manuals). Individual sessions are only $85 and negotiable payment plans and insurance can often be worked out.  Plan on one year for the big changes to happen and notice that more comprehensive treatment is not available any better anywhere else at even close to these low costs.
